Dave Threinen'56, Secretary of the Chapin Society |
Beloit College’s first president, Aaron Lucius Chapin, poised the College for future greatness. William Porter, Chapin’s brother-in-law and a life-long member of Beloit’s faculty, remarked that Chapin’s “…work was largely out of sight, laying foundations for a growth that was yet to come.”
The Chapin Society recognizes those individuals, families, and organizations who have committed to a leadership level of generosity. Established in 1967, the Chapin Society acknowledges donors whose gifts are $1000 or more per year.

Jim Ferwerda'53 is honored at the 2007 Heritage Society Luncheon. |
The Heritage Society is a gift club that recognizes alumni and friends of Beloit who make gifts that will benefit Beloit in the future, such as bequests, beneficiary designations on an IRA or insurance policy, gift annuities or charitable trusts. When individuals inform the College that Beloit is included in their estate plans, they are automatically enrolled as members of the Beloit College Heritage Society. The rewards that come with membership are a distinctive turtle lapel pin (recalling Beloit's distinctive turtle-shaped Indian mound), an estate-planning newsletter, and an invitation to the annual recognition luncheon and program presented at Homecoming/Reunion weekend.
